Last Sunday, about 2 hours after i wrote the last post, Our German Shepherd died.
I haven't been able to write about it because it was a big shock.
He had a big operation 3 weeks ago and he had been doing really well and was recovering really well. The reason he died wasn't because of his operation. Acoording to the vets he had a blood clot which had traveled into his lungs.
He died on the way to the vets, my dad rushed to try and get there so the vets could save him. The vets said even if we had got him there sooner they couldn't have saved him.
A few years ago we got a German Shepherd because our eldest dog (the brown lab) was dying so we needed another dog to keep the black lab company. At the time we didn't realize that the German Shepherd was neurotic, we just thought he had a favorite person (my mum by far!).
We went out for the day (3-4 hours) and left him in a huge, comfy, expensive cage. Our other two dogs were in there as well so he wasn't lonely.
When we got back we saw is huge Dorito ears at the front door. We all knew that he would have done something or broken something. We didn't think he would do what he had actually done... We opened the front door and let him out, we went into the sitting room, only to find half a chair eaten, the corner of the table chewed to pieces, a Ugg boot shredded, my art book ripped to pieces (with my homework in!), the cage door ripped off (it was fabric) and poo everywhere. He was in a lot of trouble!!!
The next day i had to go and see my art teacher to tell her my book was ripped up along with the homework. She asked how it had happened so i told her "my dog ate my work and homework." That didn't go down well, so i got my mam to ring her and tell her what had happened and she didn't believe her either. So i went into show her my art book and she just said that i must be desperate to prove her wrong. So i moved classes to a much much nicer teacher!!!
The next time we went out we filmed him breaking the cage and ripping something up, so we knew how he did it, and managed to put a stop to it once and for all!!!
For our first dog we got another one to keep her company, we didn't have much trouble with our first dog (apart from the peanut butter incident) so we thought the new one wouldn't be that bad. We had them in a cage while we were out so they didn't destroy the house, little did we know we had got a dog houdini (a famous magician) he could escape the cage through a gap no bigger than 15cm.
Me and my family had gone out for the day and had left the dogs at home in the cage. When we had left the shoes out and obviously drinks that normaly were out.
When we got back we went straight to see the dogs only to find bottles of lemonade empty and ripped apart (there was no liquid on the floor) and we didn't know how it could have happened because we didn't realise he could squeeze through tiny spaces. We were going to go hiking with the dog to give them some excersise but my dad couldn't find his shoe only the laces, at this point in time we realised the puppy was the only one who could have done it, dad wasn't the best pleased person. When we got home we put our cothes in the wash and couldn't find the vanish powder. we searched high and low for it but still couldn't find it. We found in their cage parts of the box put again no powder. We took him to the vets but they said he was perfectly fine nothing to worry about, they told us to fix the gap.
So we did and everything was perfectly fine. Until...
When i was little we had a chocolate brown Labrador. She loved peanut butter (as did I). When me and the family were going out my mum had made me some peanut butter sandwiches. Once she had made them she had left them on the bench, bearing in mind the dog was out. There was no one around so my mum went to back the sandwiches away into a bag, only to find them missing. When she asked me where they had gone, I said that I didn't know where they had gone. Our brown Labrador then came trotting in with that little mischievous face, the dog hadn't got all the peanut butter off her nose, we caught the culprit.
Hi, This blog is about all the funny experiences i have had with dogs. People are always saying that they are bad or aggresive. I am hoping this blog changes your mind about how they can be.
